The 2007 QU Soccer roster will be bolstered by nine freshmen recruits, all with outstanding credentials. Five of the new Hawks hail from the St. Louis (MO) area, two from Cape Girardeau (MO) and two from Clearwater (FL).
Jake Pittroff (midfield) and Greg Schaeffer (defender) sign on from the perennially tough Oakville HS soccer program (class 3A - large schools) in St. Louis and both play for the Lou Fusz SC.
Grant Ellison (striker) and Ryan Hirtz (midfield) prepped at St. Dominic HS, the state runner-up in the Missouri 2A championship. Ellison also teamed up with Pittroff and Schaeffer on the Lou Fusz SC.
Jack Wedemeier (striker) and Abe Dirnberger (defender) join the Hawks from the Missouri 2A state champion, Cape Girardeau Notre Dame HS.
Bryan Scott (striker) and Sean Flaherty (midfield) join the Hawks from Florida's state runner-up Clearwater Central Catholic HS coached by former QU alum, Jim Harte.
All these players are high school All-Conference awardees and most were also honored as All-Staters as well. Welcome to the QU Soccer Hawks!!!
